As a result of AB928, California Community Colleges are transitioning to a single general education pattern for transfer, called the California General Education for Transfer Curriculum (Cal GETC).

As a result of AB 1111, California Community Colleges are in Phase 1 of 3 in adopting a common course numbering system for all general education and transfer pathway courses. The purpose of the 共通课程编号 (CCN) system is to ensure that comparable courses across all community colleges have the same course number. The goal is to streamline the transfer process from California Community Colleges to four-year postsecondary educational institutions and reduce excess credit accumulation.

The chart below provides a list of courses with new names and numbers, effective Fall 2025.

  • The content of the courses have not changed, nor have the transfer requirements they meet.
