The 文科 天博 provides a rich educational experience through coursework in a broad range of academic disciplines. 文科 provides excellent preparation for university transfer and/or a wide range of 天博s.

Students graduating with a 文科 天博 are able to: read critically and communicate effectively as a writer and a speaker; understand the connections among academic disciplines and apply interdisciplinary approaches to problem solving; 批判性和创造性地思考； 考虑知识的伦理含义； and possess a worldview informed by diverse social, multicultural and global perspectives.

Therefore, the broad-based interdisciplinary nature of 文科 provides a knowledge base and the communication and critical thinking skills necessary for many 天博s and occupations. The 文科 天博 provides solid preparation for upper division work following transfer -- more specifically, for university programs in teaching and pre-law and for 天博s such as business, government and communication. With proper course selection (see a counselor), LMC’s 文科 天博 articulates with CSU’s popular upper division Liberal Studies 天博, which is the path to a teaching credential program.

The 文科 天博 incorporates many General Education requirements, so students need only to pass a few additional courses in order to complete the 天博. The 天博 has three emphasis options: Arts and Humanities; 行为科学与社会科学； 数学和科学。
