关于AB 705

AB 705是州长于2017年10月13日签署的法案。 The bill requires that a community college district or college maximize the probability that a student will enter and complete transfer-level coursework in English and math within a one-year timeframe and use, in the placement of students into English and math courses, one or more of the following: high school coursework, high school grades, and high school grade point average.

Research shows that students’ overall high school performance measure by grade point average (GPA) is the strongest predictor of performance in college-level coursework. With the newly enacted AB 705 legislation, students receive a placement from using either high school performance records or participate in a 引导Self-放置 process instead of our old assessment tests. Assessment tests will no longer be administered as part of our assessment process.

For implementation by Fall 2019, California law AB705 represents a significant change in the way students are placed. Students may be eligible to enroll in transfer-level math or English 天博, or transfer-level courses with additional support. 学院或大学成绩单

• 数学: If you have taken a math class at an天博 college or university and received a "C" or better, you may qualify for a higher level math class. Submit your transcripts to the Admissions Office for evaluation.
• 中文: If you have taken an English class at an天博 college or university and received a "C" or better, you may qualify for a higher level English class. Submit your transcripts to the Admissions Office for evaluation.
• If you have already received a 学士学位 from a college or university, submit your transcripts to the Admissions Office for evaluation.

大学先修课程（AP）考试

数学: If you took the AP Calculus AB or BC exam, you may submit your test scores to the Admissions Office for evaluation to determine your math placement at LMC.

中文: If you took the AP English Language & Composition and/or the AP English Literature & Composition, you may submit your test scores to the Admissions Office for evaluation to determine your English placement at LMC.

外部评估和安置

• CAASPP(California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) English scores allow you to place into English 100 if it states "Standard Exceeded" or your results state "Standard Met" and you have taken an ERWC course or AP English course in the 12 grade with a C or better. Please bring a copy of your test results and transcript to the Assessment Center. 数学成绩不被接受。
