The mission of LMC’s 专业发展 and Learning Program is to strengthen and support a dynamic learning environment that promotes the personal, professional, and organizational development for all employees - with the ultimate goal of student success.

LMC was founded on the principles of continuous development and professional growth of its employees and to this day, professional learning is a respected and practiced value of our campus culture.

The 专业发展 Advisory Committee (PDAC) and the Local Flex Planning Group (LPG) work closely with professional development staff to plan, review, and coordinate a variety of trainings, conferences, and activities that engage employees in their professional growth in areas such as Teaching and Learning, Cultural Humility and Equity, Technology, Health, Wellness and Safety, and Leadership and Management. In all aspects of Professional development, 公平与包容, Assessment, and Community Building are integrated throughout its activities.

PDAC invites all staff to join workgroups through which campus professional learning initiatives and related allocations of resources are made.

PDAC is a shared governance and Brown Act governed committee, responsible for the coordination of professional learning activities on campus.

PDAC meets monthly on the 4th Thursday, 2 - 3 PM in room L-215 (专业发展 Center). 请参阅会议纪要和议程下的议程。

LPG also meets monthly on the 4th Thursday, 3 - 4 PM in room L-215 (专业发展 Center).

Both groups are comprised of 教师, 经理, 分类 Professionals, and 学生 who review and approve all professional learning and Flex credit-eligible activities prior to implementation. All requests should be submitted two weeks prior to the PDAC and LPG meetings.
